The 2025 SEC bubble update for today is great news for literally over half of the conference, but not everyone overall.
Out of 16 teams in the SEC, the vast majority of them are in contention for the tournament, the field for which will be selected in less than a month. Just two teams are far outside the action, while the rest, if nothing else, have a chance at getting into the Big Dance.
In today’s video, we go team-by-team and assess probabilities of getting into the tournament, focused on the SEC.
2025 SEC Bubble Update Video
Who’s in and who’s out? Those are the questions to which you want to know the answers, and while you may also be checking out our regular bracket updates, the situation is fluid and where a team rates can change a few times a week. If you are one of the unfortunate teams in college basketball purgatory – otherwise known as the bubble – teams that are very close to the cut line can see their fortunes change at a moment’s notice. Such was the case for two SEC teams.
How Have Things Changed Since Last Time?
About a week ago, we looked at SEC bubble teams, as well as all other major conferences. The SEC had seven guaranteed bids and several others that appeared likely. They are in the process of consolidating those bids into locks, but what about their bubble teams?
They have the same number of teams on the bubble, but developments within the last few days have left a few teams out in the cold. The SEC will get between nine and 14 teams in the NCAA Tournament this year. In our latest video, we came up with 12 as our best guess.
With only about three weeks or so left in the regular season, anything can still happen.
