The 2025 NCAA hockey tournament bracket is now out, and we know the paths each of the 16 teams will have to chart for a title.
Truth be told, there was very little mystery in terms of who would make the tournament. Unlike in college basketball, college hockey has a selection formula, which is mimicked by the PairWise Rankings. Once the conference tournaments were completed on Saturday, we knew the field of 16 and who their opponent was likely to be. The only information still to be determined was where those teams will play.
Now, on March 23, we know the answers. See below for the matchups and the regional locations for all 16 teams in the tournament.
2025 NCAA Hockey Tournament: By Conference
As expected, Hockey East leads the field with five bids. The Big Ten owns four spots. The NCHC and ECAC both have two, while the CCHA and Atlantic Hockey each have one.
Cornell stole a fifth Big Ten bid from Michigan this weekend, as top seed Quinnipiac lost, but retained a high enough PairWise Ranking to qualify for an at-large bid.
Hockey East has two of the top seeds, while the Big Ten and NCHC have the other two.
