2025 Big 12 Bubble Update, Feb. 23

With just a few weeks to go until Selection Sunday, the latest 2025 Big 12 bubble update looks favorable for at least six teams.

The Big 12 is not going to get as many teams into the 2025 NCAA Tournament as the SEC or the Big Ten; there is some chance they could tie the latter if their bubble gets wiped out, but no chance at catching the former. We took a look at which Big 12 teams have the best chance at getting into the field, who has work to do (in some cases, a lot), and who has no shot whatsoever.

When Is the 2025 Big 12 Tournament?

Glad you asked, because some of these teams hovering on the bubble might need to do some damage there to secure their spot in March. The tournament begins on Tuesday, March 11 and ends on Saturday, March 15.

A full schedule of conference tournaments, including a day-by-day look at this one, can be found here.

2025 Big 12 Bubble Update: How Many Teams?

As of today, per the video we just released, we are projecting eight Big 12 tournament teams. The likely range of outcomes is between six to ten bids. This puts them behind conferences like the SEC (12) and Big Ten (10), but ahead of others like the ACC (3-4) and Big East (4).

Who Are the Big 12 Locks for the Tournament?

You know, you can also watch the video to answer your questions, but we will be nice and answer. As of today, we think Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Arizona, and Texas Tech are certain to make the tournament this year.
